Should popcorn be banned? Of course not, then we'd just be drinking a tub of fake butter and that COULDN'T possibly be good for you.

    Jeremy's never-to-be Classic Film Festival
    04/05/08 by: Jeremy

In honor of Robert Osborne's classic Film Festival in Athens next week, the Athen Banner Herald asked some local movie celebrities (and us) to write out their personal film festival. Here's mine:

Thursday,8:30 pm-"Millers Crossing": Come watch this brilliant gangster flick and stay after the film as Jeremy attempts to get Albert Finney on the phone.

Friday,1:30 pm-"Support Your Local Sherriff": After this hilarious comedy Jeremy will ask James Garner two questions about the film as a smokescreen before launching into his 3 page list of "Rockford Files" questions.

Friday,4:30 pm-"The Muppet Movie": A free matinee for the kids, followed by Jeremy's roundtable discussion with the entire cast (All voices done by Jeremy himself.)

Friday,8:30 pm-"My Man Godfrey":Funniest movie ever, followed by a seance where Jeremy attempts to communicate with William Powell (Audience participation required)

Saturday,11:00 am-"Once Upon A Time In The West": Jeremy doesn't get up before noon, but the movie will still rule.

Saturday,4:30 pm-Sidney Lumet Double Feature! Watch the 2 greatest movies of the 70's,"Network" and "Dog Day Afternoon" back to back, afterwards Jeremy interviews the director and attempts not to embarrass himself.

Sunday,1:30 pm-Musical Finale! "Hard Days Night" with Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon" played over it.

    Delusions of grandeur

Sorry there was no comic last week but we had too much to do and decided to take a week off. Hope nobody went and saw "Shutter" because we weren't there to warn them.

    Badmaash no.1!
    3/02/08 by: Jeremy

Hey, it's Flickskinny movie night at the Flicker tomorrow night. It'll be a double feature with "Badmaash no.1" first up. This Bollywood masterpiece is about a man who must avenge his fathers death and kill the main baddie from "Temple of Doom". Oh yeah, his dead father is also a horse.

After that we'll be watching "Frightmare" which I think is about a dead rockstar and the drama students who steal his rockin' corpse. Sounds hot! Hope to see ya' there and not watching, say, "Penelope".

Hola! Special thanks to everyone who showed up for "Criminally Insane" the other night at Flicker. That movie never gets old.

Get excited for our next "Flickskinny" movie night...it's going to be good.

    Merry Christmas, ya'll.
    12/26/07 by: Jeremy

Hola! I've been visiting relatives, as most of you probably are as well, so the comic is a bit late. Forgive me.

    Art Show .
    12/10/07 by: Jeremy

Hey, me and Clint have some cartoon up at the Lyndon House for their Athens comics showcase. It's up until Januray 22nd so if you're in Athens, check it out. Lots of good stuff.

    New comic up.
    11/18/07 by: Jeremy

I'm sorry there was no comic last week, a couple of people I know died within a few hours of each other and the thought of being funny last weekend just wasn't happening.

In happier news me and Clint are part of a new art exhibit at the Lyndon House in Athens GA starting November 22. I'm pretty excited about it so go check it out...I'm not sure exactly how long it'll be up but I believe it's for a couple of weeks at least.

    Have a happy thanksgiving.

Jeremy's life too complicated to blog about.
    09/04/07 by: Jeremy

I hate to make excuses and all but I just haven't had time to do anything this week. Between Flicker, Vision Video, Flickskinny and this howling baby next to me I'm about to go cuckoo.

Which is why there are 3 new radio shows posted and one more on the way shortly. I just plum didn't have time. Pathetic. Here she goes again. Be good.

    Tuesday at Flicker
    08/11/07 by: Jeremy

A quick note to let you know that Tuesday night (August 21) at the Flicker Bar in downtown Athens, GA is "Implausible Sci-Fi Night" and we're going to be showing a completely implausible masterpiece of science fiction cinema. Come on down and find out what it is.

    Sorry no comic.
    08/06/07 by: Jeremy

I'm sorry there was no comic this week, but me and Clint spent the weekend on our latest project, getting people drunk. That's right, we took over the Flicker Bar in Athens, Ga and started immediately (and rather suddenly) getting the operation up and going. We'll be back soon though, I promise, and everyone likes the "Bourne" movies anyway so it's not like our opinions were very important this weekend anyhow.

    Potter Fever!
    07/22/07 by: Jeremy

It's "Potter mania" out there, people, and even I am not immune. The Flickskinny take on "Harry Potter 5" is up in both audio and visual formats, and I have also dipped deep into my archives (It's a pile of envelopes) and pulled out, not one but TWO ancient comics: Harry Potter 2 and Harry Potter 3.

Harry Potter 4 has been online for awhille, but these two comics have been languishing away, hidden from view for too damn long.

As for Harry Potter 1, well, I thought about putting that comic up, but, damn if that era of the FlickSkinny is just not holding up to my current standards. Maybe, when Harry Potrter 6 comes out I'll have abandoned my scruples enough to put it online. Hold your breath.

I should probably apologize,I don't normally go for such crass humor but that headline was just too perfect. Please, forgive me.

    Oops!
    07/15/07 by: Jeremy

Sorry, to break it to you but we're going to be a little behind for a couple of weeks. Nothing permanent but this baby stuff threw my trajectory off. So I know "Transformers" is a week old and "Harry Potter 5" will be a week old when it debuts next week, but after that we should be back to normal...I hope.

    Babies, babies, babies.
    07/08/07 by: Jeremy

As some of you may have noticed, there has been no comic posted this weekend because I have been busy giving fatherhood the old college try. My little girl, Ava Kai Long, was born on July 4th and has been taking up my 'funny pikture' time demanding I pinch her cheeks, wipe her butt and things of that nature. Here's a picture:

There is a new radio show though, and a comic for "Transformers" will be available shortly.

Please note that even a baby depending on me 24/7 wont keep me from watching "Harry Potter 5" the second it's available, mainly because I have a backlog of wizard jokes that will spoil if I don't use them.

    Tally Ho!:)

Hamas cancels "Farfour" with extreme prejudice.

Do you know your innocuous quotes?
    06/30/07 by: Jeremy

The "100 movies, 100 quotes, 100 numbers" montage. I think I scored 89, but it's hard to tell. Give it a try, it's alot of fun.

It's not completely done yet, but it's good enough for gub'ment werk. Check it out!!!!

    No Skinny next week:(
    06/17/07 by: Jeremy

Sorry all, but I have a baby due on Sunday and, let's face it, next week kind of sucks on the film-front anyway. Hopefully, I'll be able to convince this kid to vacate my wifes womb in time for "Die Hard 4" which comes out two weeks from now. I keep yelling at my wifes belly, but the kid apparently ain't listening, an obvious harbinger of things to come.

To hold you over until then, here is a newly added comic from the distant stone age (2005), that's right, the internet premiere of the original "Fantastic Four" FlickSkinny!

It certainly is your lucky week, isn't it?

If that isn't enough to thrill you, than read this. I suspect a "Miami Vice" style series coming soon based on this real-life problem. Watch this space for details.

    Hola Suckeros!
    8/13/06 by: Jeremy

Well, I'm back from my trip to NYC. I had an awesome time hanging out with my lil' sis who is working over at some inconsequential mag called "The New Yorker" or some-such nonsense. They say it's bigger than the "Flick Skinny" circulation-wise but I'm not convinced.

We went and saw "Phantom of the Opera" and watched "The Manchurian Candidate" (the 60's one, of course) in Bryant Park on a giant outdoor movie screen. Paradise!

Hope all of you had a good week too. I was also lucky enough to walk around the set of the new Woody Allen movie, I'm not sure what the plot is but it looks like a bit of a departure. Here's a picture:

    Talk to ya' later!

I'm out of here! Being not at all satisfied with the stiffling Georgia summertime, I'm heading to New York City to broil in its record breaking temperatures.Because of this I'm putting the new comic up early this week.

    Hope you enjoy it!
